AHHH!

So this last week has been crazy.  Insane.  I felt like my head was no longer attached.  (not that that’s new!! LOL!)  I had my daughter’s fifth birthday party (which was to take place in a city three hours away…that’s fun to plan!), family reunion, cousin’s wedding, a family debacle, a huge trip with all the assorted packing and lists for a family of four…and a yearly check with my dr.  Guess which one I was looking forward to least?  :)

The check went well with the Dr, except he wants me to have some blood work done, and to have that done…I have to go off my meds for a month.  AHHHH!  I’m freaking out about that, petrified that going off them will not only stop the weightloss, but will cause the weight gain.   But I have do it in order to see where I’ll need to be with the meds for any future pregnancy…which we’d really like.  AHH!  I feel like the training wheels have been ripped off my bike and I’m just not ready for a two-wheeler yet!

So now I’m trying a diet for thyroid (thank you Mary for the wonderful tip on that!!), and I’m trying up my exercise to make sure I don’t gain any weight….and I’m still freaking out!!!

All of that being said, with all the craziness lately I’ve fallen very behind with all my buddies, and I’m going to try and catch up as the week goes on here.  Sorry for falling behind!!!  I’ll try and be a better buddy now that I’m back on planet Earth!!

You are an awesome buddy. And in the scheme of things… we should fall somewhere near the middle to end of your list, so don’t worry about “falling behind with your buddies”. Life is demanding! You have a family, an issue with your thyroid, and awesome plan to get healthier… SOMETHING has to fall on down the list of ‘Things To Do’!! We’ll take a back seat and be content just hearing from you when you get a chance. I hope the new diet works for you. You have a lot of things on your plate at the moment (and unfortunately it’s not food!!). Hang in there girl… a healthier you means that all other avenues of life will flow better as well. No perfect, because lets face it, this isn’t Heaven. Life is still crazy, but you’ll have more energy and a better outlook on life in general if you FEEL GOOD!! Your looking awesome, you sound like an awesome mom and wife… trudge on soldier, but be proud of all you have accomplished so far!

First, you are always a great buddy and never have to worry about that! It’s funny, i wondered where you were, not just cuz i love your comments, which i do, but b/c i was hoping you were ok. really that is what matters to me! so catch up or not on me and we’re all good. I hope going off the meds isn’t too crazy-making for your bod. Sounds like ti is indeed what you need to do right now and the lbs may fluctuate as you figure it out, especially if you get tired and all that. Are their natural remedies your doctor can suggest to alleviate those effects? to keep the energy up? best of luck! just keep writing and jumping and eating well so that even if you gain weight you will also have gained great habits for when the meds can come back!

I don’t know much about thyroid disease, in fact, I don’t know anything at all, other than it causes some people to gain a lot of weight and others to lose a lot. What I do know is that healthy habits are good for us, whether or not we are on/off medication. So take this opportunity to continue to eat healthy and to exercise, so once you get back on your meds, it will seem natural to you. The only thing I would be concerned with, is something I recall from your previous blogs—-the gloomy moods. Hang in there buddy and maybe the good doctor can give you advice on how to control your weight while off your meds!!
