New Music Please??
I don’t know about the rest of you…but music is a HUGE motivator for me. It gets me on the treadmill when all I really want to do is sit and inhale coffee with my eyes closed.
But I NEED, desperately need, some new music to get me going. I’m begging anyone and everyone I know to give me some ideas!! PLEASE!!!! :) It doesn’t have to be something you work out to, or even like, but ANY ideas for artists or songs would be HUGELY appreciated.
And don’t worry. I LOVE everything (except rap, I’m very sorry, there’s just not enough coffee in the world to take me there)…I’ve been on a Great Big Sea, Pink, Ace of Base, John Cougar Mellencamp and Bach kick. But I need something to shake it up…. anything with a good beat, good lyrics….ANYTHING…. I’m a music floozy, or a music strumpet if you prefer, I have no standards at all!
Any ideas?? I’m putting down my coffee to get down and grovel and beg here….face to the floor….I’m desperate!
Please please please please please!!!!! ![]()
you might want to try books on tape……..loading inspiring talks on your I-Pod can be very uplifting……..it works as well as music………go back and forth……
OMG, wait till I tell you about my latest fiasco, it has all to do with music. If I can get it figured out, I might be able to help you with your problem. What are you listening to music on?
Ohh! I like the book on tape idea!! Hadn’t even thought of that!!
I listen to music mostly on an mp3 player…but I can get my hands on anything that’s recommended between the library and a friend of mine who works in a music store. Can’t wait to hear about the fiasco….
As I was driving down the road with my 12-yr-old son last night, both of us singing at the top of our lungs, I realized that I NEED to add “Dead” by My Chemical Romance to my MP3 player.
I also love “All Star” by Smash Mouth and “I’m a Believer” from the Shrek movie, lol. Those are fun.
And also, “Bleed It Out” by Linkin Park.
books on tape or you can download them as well - some are even free! i just got a shuffle and it’s loaded with the Killers, James Brown, B-52s and something else kind of hip hoppy. I think Janet JAckson, Madonna, that old school stuff can be dancy. The Brazilian Girls -Talk to La Bomb a friend gave me and it’s great for moving…I pretty much get moving to ANY techno, bass and drum music, or disco - it’s like it seeps into the blood and makes me have to dance…
Hmm… this seems to be an issue of mine lately also! So i’ll be checking in on the replies here!! One thing that I like to do is find a movie I love and snatch the soundtrack. The music from a movie is something that I always notice… so much so that often even instrumental pieces played in the background bring back scenes to my head and I can nearly replay the entire movie in my mind! How come I can’t remember other stuff as well!?? I love musicals… old and new… so a few of my favorites are Singing in the Rain, Chicago (which has some jazzy tunes mixed with humor…but you gotta see the movie to get the music), Moulin Rouge…. OH… also try the group Pussycat Dolls. I have been addicted to thier music lately. You can look up some of thier music videos on Youtube.com and see that… kinda cool… look for the video for thier song ‘Sway’ it’s one of my favorites (and was also in the movie with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez called Shall We Dance. Okay girly… I’m REALLY proud of you!! Your kickin this weight loss thing! Only 4 more lbs to go! Geez Louise!! You can’t leave me when you reach your goal though! I need you until I reach mine!
Oh I love my music on to exercise with too. Not the same with out it. I love the whole Chris Daughtry Cd I barley have to switch through any of the songs because they are all up beat. Ummm Ricky Martin..(ok I’m almost embarrassed but who cares) Shake your bon bon, Livin La Vida Loca, The cup of Life. Those get me through a work out pretty quick. Fleetwood Mac also has a few upbeat good ones. I’m so lame I make myself laugh.
